Sanchong Centralized Quarantine Center Re-Opened 128 Rooms and Introduced Telemedicine Care

As the pandemic (COVID-19) becomes more severe in Taiwan and the increase in confirmed cases, New Taipei City re-opened the Sanchong Reinforced Centralized Quarantine Center (Centralized Quarantine Center) today to maintain the healthcare capacity by opening 128 rooms and accommodating 268 people. The Far Eastern Memorial Hospital medical team stationed to admit patients with mild symptoms or without symptoms of infection. The team introduced telemedicine care online to cope with the future demand for home care model.

 

Telemedicine Care Online

FEMH adopted the previous experience in operating the centralized quarantine center and introduced modern medical services. The Sanchong Centralized Quarantine Center adopts “Telemedicine Care Online,” where the public receive online appointment through the telemedicine APP without having to leave the centralized quarantine center. The medicines will be delivered by dedicated vehicles, implementing the brand-new model of hospital-free appointment.

 

New Taipei City Mayor You-Yi Hou surveyed the Sanchong Centralized Quarantine Center today to experience the online telemedicine care. Patients were simulated with scenarios for conducting online appointment with the FEMH Family Medicine Division Doctor Eden Wong. Mayor Hou praised the convenient appointment and expressed that “the videoconference clinic is very clear.”

 

Mayor You-Yi Hou also expressed gratitude for the stationing by FEMH medical team and the site provided by the owner, so that the patients with mild symptoms or no symptoms in New Taipei City can also stay in superior quarantine and care environment. In the future, more centralized quarantine centers will be opened to admit 1,300 people. Regardless of the type of pandemic situation, New Taipei City is prepared to defeat virus with full commitment.

 

FEMH Vice president Tzu-Yu Lin lead the team and undertook the mission handed over by the Department of Health, New Taipei City on April 4. Today, the FEMH team quickly completed personnel, direction, environment, and equipment planning by opening 128 rooms to accommodate 268 people. Patients will be admitted starting today.

Tzu-Yu Lin stated that FEMH has adopted online telemedicine care in response to this pandemic situation, thereby protecting the health of patients from cloud computing and providing security for the public. The online telemedicine care platform was co-developed by FEMH and Far EasTone. If the patients with mild symptoms or without symptoms were admitted to the centralized quarantine center during the pandemic period, and the people were in need of medical treatment, the telemedicine APP can be adopted to schedule appointment with the doctor via videoconference. A dedicated vehicle will deliver the medicine with seamless care. During the most rigorous pandemic period last year, nearly 10,000 people have used the APP.
